FINE BALANCE
There is a very fine balance between overworking something and letting it go. We are all (we hope) always working on something. It might be a life change, a career move, a family dynamic overhaul, personal transformation, or it could be several at once. But there is no question we all grapple and fuss and think until sometimes we fell like our brains will just fly out of the top our heads. I know for me, I play with things… Read More
A YEAR AGO TODAY
One year ago today, our book Gratitude and Trust came out. One year ago today we got to shoot our Super Soul Sunday segment with Oprah. A year ago today our journey officially began. It’s been a great year. We’ve met so many wonderful people. Travelled all over the country and even to Paris. We have had the most extraordinary experiences on TV, radio, book fairs, now ending in our own podcast. We are grateful for it all. We thank those… Read More

ONE LESS – ONE MORE
Hard to believe, but there are only three more weeks to get that summer reading in. A book we really like is Robbie Vorhaus’ One Less. One More. We met Robbie when he spoke on this topic at the Gratitude and Trust #14o Summit. One Less. One More is a very simple concept, but a really good one and it is very compatible with Gratitude and Trust. It breaks down into this – each day choose one less negative, resistant or… Read More
DON’T FORGET TO BREATH
Breathing is everything. I know that is kind of a lame statement. But it is true. Stop breathing and you die. Breathing, along with keeping you alive it regulates so many things. When I get excited my breath speeds up, sometimes I miss breaths. I also know when I want to calm myself down I start slowing my breath down and it works. When I want to not respond and think something through, I stop and take three deep breaths.… Read More

CORE MEMORIES
Let’s take a few minutes and investigate our core memories. Ever since seeing Inside Out I have been very taken with this idea. We can have memories and not erase them or numb them, we can even voice them, but they do not have to influence our every move or response. And knowing what some of them are can help us gain greater self-knowledge, own our own personal truths, but not let them guide us in the wrong direction.

INSIDE OUT – WHO IS CONTROLLING YOUR EMOTIONS?
There is a new Pixar movie called INSIDE OUT. I’m not going to spoiler alert this for anyone. My advice is – go see this film. In the theatre. Big screen. Surround sound. Popcorn in hand. Get the full-on Technicolor, no distractions movie experience. Inside Out is the story of Riley, an eleven-year -old girl whose many conflicting emotions are starting to take over. It shows us a human being from the POV of their feelings. Each emotion has an… Read More

BOOK SELECTION OF THE WEEK
Pico Iyer is primarily known for his travel writing. He jets around the globe more than a pilot with an International route. But he has also always been a seeker of secular serenity. He has written several books about it. He has travelled with the Dalai Lama. He spends time each year in different types of retreats in search of quiet, peace and stillness. In this, his latest book, and one of TED’s first in their new publishing enterprise, Pico… Read More
PODCASTS – EXCITING AND NEW!
As many of you know we have been preparing to start our own Gratitude and Trust podcast since the first of the year. I was just telling my mother- in-law about this and she said ‘What is a podcast?” Not a crazy ass question for someone of her generation. I explained it to her. But, she does not have a smart phone, a set of earbuds or a Jambox; she is even without a Beats Pill. But, there are hundreds… Read More
