Gratitude, The Right Stuff

IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT US

IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT US

Normally there will be no posts on Sunday, but we wanted to take a moment and thank all of you who signed up so quickly to be a part of our online community.  Paul and I are overwhelmed by the response and excited by the opportunity to share and be a part of your lives on this journey of gratitude and trust. There are so many places to hang out on the web and the fact you all chose to come to us is deeply appreciated. I can assure you everyday we learn something new, and will be in the life lab with our sleeves rolled up, learning and writing and sharing as we go.

But, before we start I need to take this moment to give thanks and deep gratitude to the people who helped make this happen. There are soooo many blogs out there.  It looks like they sprout up overnight like mushrooms.

They are not easy to make, maintain and run. There are those who can head over to Tumblr or WordPress and create something on their own that looks pretty darn amazing. Paul and I don’t have those talents.  Paul can write a song in a morning and it becomes a classic. I can write a movie in three weeks and sell it. Though HTML and all that goes into making a site are way out of our skill set.

This site looks awesome, if I say so myself, and that is thanks to the talent and hard work of Patricia Belen and Greg D’ Onofrio of The Kind Company.  They have worked tirelessly getting this up for us. I don’t even know what goes into it. I don’t think I would understand it if they tried to explain it. I send enough emails, “Help the fonts disappeared. The logins don’t work”.  Paul just spent an hour trying to get his Disqus photo up. Patricia did it in two seconds. Buckets of gratitude and heart felt thanks to Patricia and Greg for not only designing this site but their endless patience with our lame questions.

Extensive life on the web takes time and many people don’t want to spend it.  The Twitter. The Facebook. All the blogging and Tweeting and Stumbling,  while making it look good and keeping it up to date.  We have Greg Lee to thank for a lot of that. OK, most of that.  Paul calls him Merlin, because no matter what the  problem is –  he solves it. I call him daily because I always have some new idea that needs to be executed immediately. Thank you Greg. We could not do this without you and we promise to start the Instagram thing soon!

The other thing I want to say  is this is not our site, it’s your site too.

We want our community to be just that. We want to hear from you and not just comments “You’re awesome.” “Love Rainbow Connection”. While one of us will write a blog a week,  we are going to have guest bloggers.  Each week we want to hear your experiences in the land of gratitude and trust and the lessons you have learned and are learning on your journey.
Affirmations will be a big part of this site. They are an important element in  our book.

We will post two a week. But Friday is your affirmation day. We want people to send in affirmations they either make up themselves or things they find that move them in some way or say something we all need to hear.

Under “Contacts” on our site you will see a form.  Send in your affirmations – please and we will post one each Friday with the person’s name who sent it. Unless you want to fly under the radar, in which case we will keep quiet. Though do send in the name of the person who said it first if it’s a quote.

We’re doing this because part of Trust and Gratitude is trusting others know things you don’t and need to hear, and being grateful when they share those with you.
